Does “Happily Ever After” Still Exist?

The existence of a happily ever after has caused a never-ending debate between skeptics and hopeless romantics everywhere in the world. One party says it can only exist in fairy tales, while the other says it can also happen in real life.

What is a happily ever after to begin with?

In fairy tales, a happily ever after often signifies the end of the story. In real life, however, it signifies the beginning of the rest of two people’s lives.

A happily ever after can happen in many different ways to different people. To mention a few, it can happen to two people who have spent their entire lives together, to two lovers who have parted ways and then reunited to rekindle the flame, to two people who live in opposite sides of the world, or to two sworn enemies who found love in the most unexpected place.

Many people dream of a happily ever after, but in all honesty, not everyone thinks that they can have it. Some may find their happily ever after in the early stages of their lives, some may find it a bit later than expected, while others may not find it at all. What rings true to me, though, is that if you choose to believe in the happily ever after, no matter how impossible it sounds, you may have one. When you strongly believe that something can happen, it can happen.
