                                                                            DON'T EXIST

       The alarm sounds and I crawl out of bed and as my feet hit the floor I try to access what is going to hurt today.  My lower back is usually aching and my souls of my feet hurt.  My allergies have kept my nose stopped up a good portion of the night and probably the reason my sleep really suffered.  As I brush my teeth and comb my hair my mind begins to kick in with the thoughts of, what time is it…..how much time do I have to eat and get out the door?  As I got dressed I notice something I’d dropped on my shirt and failed to wash out, but there is no time to find another shirt, my pants are wrinkled, but wrinkles will just have to be me today.  I gather up everything in my pockets I need to get through the day, my glasses, watch, nasal spray, eye drops and mints.  I’ve put me together the best three o’clock in the morning will allow and I’m out the door to face a new day.  As I open the door I pause and wonder if I’ve forgotten anything and even after my calculated review nothing seems to pop up, but I’ve definitely forgotten the most important thing that I need to face the day.   I never knelt by the bed for 2 minutes, or 3 minutes or 5 minutes and thanked Jesus for another breath, another heartbeat. 

            The hair tonic, the toothpaste, the warm wash cloth on my face, the cologne I chose to wear, the clean clothes I put on…..even though spotted, wrinkled allowed me to feel good about myself and present myself amongst my peers.  All these things are superficial, what God cares about is what you’re wearing on your heart.   Regardless of how much you may hurt today, God has Blessed you with the strength and energy to go to work and truly the Blessing of a place to go to work.  If you are like I am and a lot of other people a good majority of our days are spent in verbal complaints.   The words of our mouths are powerful. God spoke everything in to existence from absolutely nothing.  There are supernatural forces that take note of every painful sigh, hurting outburst or the words of thankfulness and Praise to God for all he has given you.

                 I have learned the hard way, that you can construct how each day will go, by the words of your mouth.  I wonder how much of our sickness and diseases are manifested by consistently speaking and murmuring over this ache or this short coming in a day.  I realize that there are circumstances that we are unable to prevent or avoid, but I know when you have a negative view of the events of the day concerning your work, your coworkers, your drive to work, the weather or a trip to see the doctor,  there’s a very good chance that those people and events will offer negative dividends.  The Bible speaks about in everything, offer God thanksgiving and praise. The Bible is a absolutely incredible book, written by man, but without a doubt inspired by Almighty God.  It’s a shame to me that most of us when we are children we resented our parents constant insistence to attend Sunday school.  I wonder how much better this country would be if that generation of the 60’s had all been ’Jesus freaks’   Would we be shooting each other, putting needles in our arms, sleeping around, stealing hardworking people’s savings, cussing out our spouse, visiting a abortion clinic?   If Jesus Christ is the focus of your day….your life, do you kill, steal and destroy?   The Bible says those are Satan’s attributes not Christ. 

                  If you put on your game face, your daily mask and keep telling yourself this is happiness, I’d be willing to bet 9 out of 10 people would tell you there happiness fades daily and they have to look for whatever the world offers to bring back the ’high’, bring back the  ’happiness’, honestly isn’t a life without Jesus really all just vanity?   A day that begins with a few minutes offering your Creator a thank you for the Blessings he has given you will help lighten your load, give the day new meaning and allow you to cope with situations that facing a day without prayer would not allow you to do.  God created each one of us with the engrained yearning to find joy, peace and happiness, everything in this world will never, ever give you anything, but a imitation.

                In the helter, skelter existence that we call our lives, start to take a few minutes to acknowledge to God that you Love him, you appreciate what he has Blessed you with and the tremendous price he has paid for you.  You are his and he will never stop calling out to you…..to stop being enticed by earthly pleasures for the are temporal and what he is offering is eternal.  Start today, start tomorrow, but please start to invite God to be a part of your life.  He Created you to be his friend, he loves you and there is absolutely nothing you can do that will ever change that.   The words might seem insignificant, but God knows the deepest parts of your heart and he yearns for your adoration and Praise.  Try it, your day will be better and your life will be complete.
