The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I doubt that I'm talking in a vacuum when I mention in a forum such as this that it's very difficult for an independent author who has published an ebook on Kindle, or Nook, or various other devices, to get the attention some of us deserve.

Okay, so I'm pretty much talking about me. Although the reviews I've received from my novel 5IVE SPEED have been fabulous, the selling of Kindle editions have not been so fabulous. You hear the same things all over. You have to put the word out on Facebook and Twitter and blog and this and that. I understand social marketing. I'm looking for the magic pill.

Don't get me wrong. I know there isn't a magic pill. I understand that as good as 5IVE SPEED is, it's going to take something special to get the sales through the roof. I've looked around for Oprah to read it, but she's just not paying attention. And evidently everyone who has a Kindle have other novels, (even really humorous ones) that they're reading right now. Even my personal website isn't straining the server's capacity.

Frustrating? Of course it is. I'm sure everyone has, is, or will go through it. But that's what blogging is all about, right? It's not necessarily a vehicle for answers...it gives me an audience for my woes.

Welcome to my woes.
