Recently, I sent out press releases on the blogbook that I'm creating about the Mississippi Delta and the 1955 murder of 14-year-old Chicagoan Emmett Till. As a result, I was invited to be interviewed for an hour by Ron Herd of Memphis who operates a well-known live podcast through All Channels (sorry, I'm just learning these terms). He did an amazing amount of pre-publicity and I've been happy with the results.

Yesterday, I learned of a horror story in the Delta regarding a black man who was reportedly chased by white people with machine guns, assault rifles and driving tanks (no kidding). The tanks reportedly belong to a relative of the attorney who represented the defense in the trial of the men who killed Emmett Till. When he reportedly threatened to shut down the television station with the story, the station apparently killed the story after one run.

Friends called me from the Delta and I called a number of media contacts including Ron Herd. Man, is he fast. Looks like major news channels are on it as well as the Department of Justice.

I feel some fascinating publicity coming on as we come closer to the anniversary of the Death of Emmett Till. Maybe this time, more people will learn the story. It's an important moment in the modern civil rights movement..

You are invited to read more about Who Killed Emmett Till? at http://whokilledemmetttill.com or http://emmett-till.com. There's a link to Ron's story, too. Also a link to the Podcast interview with Ron.
