As the first week of February, 2010, comes to an end, I would like to share with you a few pleasant activities of which I was able to parttake.

Please keep in mind that the ever-entertaining Superbowl 2010 event has not yet taken place in my area (Pacific Standard Time). However, I will delight in hearing your views concerning this occasion in days to come.

Beforehand, the yearly "Sacramento [California] Museum Day 2010" took place. Twenty-five of this countys' museums open their doors, free, to all interested parties. I was one of the many visitors. My long time favorite museum, Crocker Art Museum, pays tribute to the Crocker family and the legacy left to Sacramento. Mired in "Treasures, Curiosities and Secrets...of the Gilded age," this particular museum is a host of knowledge.

To mention a distinct number of the thousands of artisan works available, the following tangible attributes caught my poignant attention:

  • The art of William F. Jackson, "Sacramento's leading painter from 1880 to 1936," is onsite.
  • "Ganeses," - a clay figure of a decapitated elephant-Hindu-god, on display as a clay figure; son to Siva and Parvaty. This was especially enlightening to me.
  • "An Art-o-Mat" machine that disburses "magical works of art...made from a refurbished cigarette machine" by Clark Whittington of North Carolina, USA.
  • Nathan Oliveira's isolated human forms - an "expressionist."
  • Stephen Kaltenbach "conceptual art," a figurative painter.
  • Andreas Nottebahm's work with "fractal geometry."
  • Charles Christian Nahl.
  • Kenton Nelson.
  • Sandow Birk's "Stonewall" painting that depicts the 1969 clash between New York City's police officers with gay and transgender individuals on June 28, 1969.
  • Therman Staton's "Shard Ladder" expressing symbolism.
  • Toshiko Takaizu's display of Hawaiian volcanic formations.
  • Franz A. Bishchoff.

All in all, this event is looked forward to each year. If any of you dear readers are in this area come February, 2011, please keep this event in mind. It takes place the first weekend of February. It is surely an eye-opening and coloful learning experience for all ages. The best part - it is free! Research, review, and plan for the next one.

My next adventure pertains to the marketing endeavors of three individuals with three separate businesses. Located in old town Roseville, California, charm with a politely quaint essence continues to blossom in that community. Through ChiaraBella Beauty Boutique by owner Morgan Macek, Wendy Griego's Nail Designs, and Lonnie Winston's Mirth-to-Earth Photography, three-in-one services are obtained individually or together. This establishment in one store-front is difinitely a fruitious result of experienced and knowledgeable individuals "thinking outside of the box." Aimed at the oftimes encumbering concerns of the general public's personal and private beatification, theirs is a win-win accumulation of talent.

To conclude, the owners imaginative foresights have brought forward their crafts to men and women. Being able to receive a manicure, pedicure, facial, and professional make-up application can culminate in a photograph of your end-product - a glamore shot! It is all conveniently done in one place - that is the beauty of it.

Now, onto The Games' close...

Anything to share? I look forward to hearing from you. AK.
