Jason Hughes brings his unique brand of horror to Trestle Press

Jason Hughes will be making Trestle Press his new home for Horror. Here is what to expect from his first release, “Without Notice”:

“    Amanda, an attractive young woman from Pittsburgh has just walked in on her soon to be Husband, Micheal, cheating on her with her best friend, Mary. She leaves him a few days before her cancer stricken mother passes away. She is now all alone and fending for herself, which she has never had a problem doing.

Amanda moves into the Graystone Castle Apartment Complex for a signed contractual lease of one year. Soon after she arrives, strange murders begin to happen and no one has a clue who could be committing the horrible acts. There are no fingerprints left at the crime scene, no signs of forced entry and no clues to who this monster could be. Soon after the killings cease for a few months and the complex management tries to start over with a clean slate. They re-name the complex The Graystone Monument and re-open for business. A few months go by and the murders start all over again. At the same time Amanda's ex, Micheal, begins to follow her. Amanda goes through stages of depression and alcoholism, which sends herself down a black spiral of grief.

Her work ethic at her daily job pays the price and so do her close friends, Josh, Steven and Holly. They all want what's best for her. She soon starts to witness the dramatic love circle between her neighbors, along with the rest of their problems and distances herself from them as well. She is now all alone, and fending for herself. Her neighbors have a hard time getting to know her and her newer neighbors blame her for the death of their friend. Amanda becomes paranoid from the glaring and gawking neighbors that surround her on a daily basis. Paranoia starts to set in, but her streak of bad luck is far from over.

Soon, Amanda starts to find her articles of clothing missing. Other articles of clothing are left out for her to see and she has the impression that someone keeps entering her home as she sleeps. She is in a drunken state and cannot tell if these sounds and bright flashes in her sleep are dreams, hallucinations or even worse, real. Someone has entered her apartment and they are watching her. In more ways than one.

Just when Amanda thought the situation could not get any worse, she finds a picture of herself sleeping in her bed, taped to her front door. She knows for sure, this is no dream. She is being stalked. Even with tight security around the building, the assailant always seems to find a way into her home without her knowing. What starts out as a nightmare around her begins to find its way into her own home.

On Amanda's last night in the apartment before moving, she finds out who has been harassing her and soon finds out much darker secrets. The rest of the night is a horrific battle to stay alive. She must do things that she thought she never would and her own home protection devices, a collection of stun guns, are used against her by the madman holding her captive.

Will Amanda survive the night and who has been harassing her this whole time. She soon finds out the shocking truth to this fear inducing question. The only question on her mind throughout the night is Will I move out of here alive?
