Jessica Dee Rohm The Secret Life of Sandrina M.

Welcome to Wednesday and we have a lot to talk about today.  Jessica Dee Rohm is our featured author today and she will be with us on our blogtalk radio show The GZONE tomorrow, Thursday@ 2pmEST. Jessica has penned a number of novels including Sugar Tower, and Make Me an Offer. If I talk too much about her now, what will we have to talk about tomorrow, hahaha. Seriously though, if you go to any of the places her novels are sold (Amazon, Goodreads, Smashwords….) you can find the social websites to follow her: Twitter, Facebook…

Don’t forget to check out the post we had on Monday for the Trestle Press Spring Submission Contest if you didn’t catch it and get those stories in. Okay, to the novel, what do we have between the covers?

“Ambition and lust, remorse and redemption are the drivers of this bewitching story of a married business woman who meets the wrong man at a vulnerable time in her life. This novel is operatic in its peaks of love and adventure; its valleys of betrayal, death and pain.”

Here is Jessica’s Bio:

“A lifelong writer and serial entrepreneur, Jessica Dee Rohm started her career at the New York Times. Her first solo enterprise, Jessica Dee Communications, a marketing and communications company, grew to be the 16th largest in the country when she sold it to the then largest advertising agency in the U.S., Chiat/Day. She served as CEO for an additional two years and left in 1989 to found her second venture, Foreign Management Company, a vertical real estate consultancy and brokerage firm that caters to investors. The New York native graduated valedictorian of her high-school class at age 16. Winning a National Merit Scholarship, a Regents Scholarship and a National Newspaper Scholarship, she attended Barnard College, graduating at age 19 with a BA in English literature. She then earned her MBA from Columbia Business School and an MFA in creative writing from Manhattanville College. Jessica Dee Rohm has published numerous feature articles in magazines and newspapers. She has been the subject herself of several feature stories and profiles in publications ranging from the Fairfield County Business Journal, The New York Times, The New York Daily News, The New York Post, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Palm Beach Post and Glamour Magazine. She has been featured in two books - The Confidence Factor by Judith Briles and Whiz Kids by Marilyn Machlowitz. The Secret Life of Sandrina M. is Ms. Rohm's second novel. “

I would say that is impressive. The novel captured my interest and held it the entire time. The personal interplay between the characters was the thing for me. The turmoil, the anguish, the love, the tenderness, was haunting me as I read through this. This week I am posting mostly thrillers and suspense except Laurie Bowlers newest, Across the City (vampires/romance/paranormal). This was a 180 from that. Dee Rohm was able to strike right me right in the heart and mind as she delved deeply into some serious questions of right and wrong. This is a page turner but in a different way: instead of looking for the next literal explosion, I was waiting for the one that was going to strike me in my mind and soul. The Secret Life of Sandrina M is deep and visceral in ways I did not expect. Jessica Dee Rohm, through her intense narrative and deft touch was able to pull feelings from me that hadn’t been elicited from an author in a while. Ride the rollercoaster, expect to be touched, explore your feelings, and discover a good read.
