Mavis – The Story of A Shelter Cat Who Found A Home – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

‘My name is Mavis, and I am a very lucky and fortunate cat. Many of my sisters and brothers are not so fortunate, and wonder in this world, wondering where
their next meal will come from, if we will get sick, and what creatures
might want to attack us and cause us harm. But I was a lucky cat, I
found a home.’

Mavis’ story brings to light the misfortune of those animals that are left to fend for themselves in the outside world. It brings awareness to our human responsibilities
when it comes to animals of any breed. And it also shows us of how, we
as humans, are responsible for the mistreatment of these animals by not
having them spayed/neutered and properly cared for. So, after reading
this book, if you get the urge to help but can’t adopt one of these
beautiful animals yourself, at least help by supporting the shelters in
your own community.
