I have written several books, but only one is out. A Case Of Murder was published in 2008, and it is the first in a series of books about private investigator Jasmine Bennett. After A Case Of Murder was published, I immediately went to work on writing the second book in the series. I've named it Her Deadly Affair. Once it was finished, I sent it out to several agents. Nobody was biting, but I'm determined to keep trying. While sending out Her Deadly Affair, I started working on a book that was unrelated to the Jasmine Bennett series. It is a fantasy, or paranormal romance. Afer finishing the book, I loved it so much that I decided to put off trying to get Her Deadly Affair published, and focus all of my efforts on my paranormal romance book. Again, I sent it out to several agents. Unlike with Her Deadly Affair, there were several agents who were interested. The only question was, which agency to sign with. Then, much to my surprise, Al Longden asked me to send him a synopsis and the first three chapters. As you can imagine, I was pretty excited. The very next morning, after sending him my manuscript, I got online to check my mail and saw that he had written to me already. My heart was in my throat, hoping and praying that he would ask to see the rest of the manuscript. He didn't. Instead, he sent me a contract to sign! After reading just the first three chapters, and the synopsis of the work, he loved it so much he asked to represent me. I was in a state of shock, and spent the rest of the day calling everyone I knew. I don't think I spent one minute of that day without a smile on my face. I sent him the rest of the manuscript to read, and signed the contracts. He went to work immediately, and just a few months later he wrote to me again. Harpercollins had expressed some interest in my book. I had heard of them, but didn't know much about them. After getting onto their website, I got excited. Two months later...well, nothing yet. We're still waiting to hear back from them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll say yes. If they choose to pass on it, there's always other publishing houses out there.
