Power Defined

Has your imagination ever run wild thinking about all the things you could do with super human powers? You have the awesome stength to lift a car off a crash victim, the ability to jump over a mountain. You jump in the ocean and you can swim to the deepest depth without running out of oxygen. The sheer thought in your mind can change your surroundings, situation, any event at any moment by merely thinking it! Neither time or space restricts your movement. Walls six foot thick and 100 foot high are either passed through or jumped over. Any weapon used against you has virtually no effect as its projectiles bounce off your flesh. You have the ability to see through any object and your sight seems endless. WOW!! WHAT A EXISTENCE! WHAT POWER, WHAT ENERGY, WHAT LIMITLESS ABILITY!

Now harness all that imagination for a second, stop your mind and focus on some real power....the power to succeed, to fulfill, the power of true love, indeed the power greater than all those listed above. The power to surrender your life without restraint. Having all the powers of the universe to beckon at a thought, but not calling upon them. Allowing yourself to be nailed to a cross and never saying 'NAILS BE REMOVED FROM MY HANDS, BLOOD STOP YOUR FLOW, WOUNDS HEAL YOURSELF AND GLORIOUS BODY BE REMOVED NOW FROM THIS SITUATION!' Here lies real power! A love for all creation, and his Father restrained him from stopping his destiny, suffering like no other human being has ever suffered, bearing all the sins of the world, but never succumbing to everything that hell had to offer up on that day. Super Hero indeed! Possessing more power than man has ever created, at his very whisper, Jesus' power is truly what the power of God is....LOVE!!

The next day when your mind begins to drift as you watch the next super hero movie, remember your Savior and mine exhibited the most powerful example of super human strength at Calvary.
