Has anyone tried the promoted Tweets on Twitter? It seems that Twitter has gone through a thoughtful process in starting their first advertising program.

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, here's the deal...

After 4 years, Twitter executives have implemented their first advertising. Last week
Twitter added promoted tweets to Twitter. These ads are designed
to show up on searches only. What this meas is that when you search for a topic, related Promoted tweets
will appear at the top of the page.

The promoted tweets (the ads) function much like regular tweets. Twitter users can reply,
tweet about, and retweet them. Unlike most ads in the world, these ads are dependent on performance. What a refreshing concept. It seems the success of the ads will depend
on how tweeters respond to them. The ads will flourish if they are retweeted or
elicit a response from reader.

For now, the business world will be watching this new approach to advertising. Results
should come in pretty quickly since there are over 600 million searches on
Twitter daily. We should soon see what ads perform the best.
