Reuniting with the Love of My Life

I was only 15 when I fell in love way back in 1942. Ruth was her name…Ruth Johnstun. Ruth was 14, but our youth didn’t stop us from building a beautiful relationship. But things went downhill fast when Ruth’s family encouraged her to move to another state to live with her grandmother and attend Beauty College. Before she left, we promised each other that we would be faithful and stay in touch. Indeed, we wrote many letters to each other, sometimes almost daily. Eventually, the letters became less and less frequent and we stopped writing. Of course, we both assumed the other had found someone else.
