Description/Blurb: All the witch wanted was romance. All the demon wanted was the world. Their battle would challenge the Gods...

Rose, the Witch of the Woods, twists destiny when she embarks on a campaign to find true love. During her quest for happily-ever-after with her familiar-turned-husband, Tom, Rose accidentally releases Lilith, a powerful demon, from her ancient prison.

Rose and her allies battle Lilith in an epic struggle of destinies woven together by fate. With help from the Three Ladies, telepathically linked oracles, Rose struggles to vanquish Lilith from the realm and restore peace to the kingdom. Throughout her journey, Rose discovers the true meaning of magic, devotion, and most importantly, love.

Review:

The Weaving by Gerald Costlow was just that – an interwoven story of fantasy and romance with strings of witchcraft and wizards, shape-shifters and immortals, good and evil. I was held enthralled from one page to the next as I sought to unravel the weaving and all the various threads. Mr. Costlow did a masterful job of tying them all together and not leaving any loose ends.

The Three Ladies and their ongoing battle with Lillith, the demon, and the continuing struggle between good and evil was well presented and highly entertaining. The addition of a shifter (often included in Native American stories) only added to the magic.

The romance between Rose and Tom, while subtle and not overdone, added an integral part of the storyline. Not an average happy ever after romance by any means, The Weaving still managed to leave me with a good feeling at the end – Plus a definite desire for a sequel. Hurry with the writing, Mr. Costlow!

For plot, characterizations, and scenes I could see, feel, smell, and even taste on occasion, I have given this first novel by Mr. Costlow five twists – a must read – my highest rating.
