Fear of the unknown may be the reason why some people will not let go of the past, or take action to change a bad habit. It can be a subconscious way of feeling secure because it’s familiar, and a convenient way to avoid risk.

Not knowing how things will turn out can make it difficult to start or finish projects, and achieving personal goals can be obstructed because thoughts of doubt and uncertainty will throw a wet blanket on your motivation.

Instead of letting doubt and uncertainty hold you back, realize that you have a choice to embrace the unknown and enjoy the freedom of doing what you want without adding any self-imposed mental boundaries.

You may have heard that achieving success takes a combination of perspiration and inspiration. The sweaty part is the physical action to get the work done, and inspired part is the belief that you can do it.

The road to success is often cluttered with mental obstacles that can slow your progress or derail your efforts. When you understand that you often create those obstacles with thoughts of self doubt and fear, then you can start to remove and replace them by consistently choosing to think of encouraging words.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7
