Super-Rich, Famous, Married Men and Their Lovers Murdered In The Act.

Reality? Not yet. And, fortunately, this is not about the unfortunate Tiger Woods scandal, exactly. The Widowmaker, a recently published 384 page novel, by author Gene Cartwright, writing as ‘Michael Manstar’ is ahead of its time. But as today’s headlines show, time may be catching up.

Ripped from the headlines? No, it’s fiction ahead of its time. The novel was written several years ago. It is said reality is stranger than fiction. That is often true. But let’s hope that, in this case, reality does frequently and accurately mimic Cartwright’s gripping thriller.

Not so long ago, Samuel L. Jackson called from Cape Town, South Africa, inquiring about the accompanying screenplay. Cartwright say’s he will not be surprised when others call.

So here’s the Log Line (TV Guide Blurb): John Roméo, a retired, 41 year-old LAPD homicide whiz, aids a baffled LAPD struggling with unsolved deaths of super-rich, famous, married men and their lovers.

Extended: Among the prominent victims are: a world-famous golfer; a mega-evangelist, and a hi-tech billionaire. They and their lovers are found murdered by close range blasts from a .44 magnum.

Solution: Call John Roméo, a cocky, 41 year-old former LAPD homicide whiz, turned multi-millionaire author, screenwriter, philanthropist, and criminology professor. They say Roméo has an "eye for beauty and a nose for murder.” But the hunter becomes the hunted. Roméo may not survive but he won't go down easy. And he won't go down alone.

They’ve got murders they can't solve. They don't want John Roméo (Romayo), but they sure as hell need him.

Cartwright's novel is the second published through his own publishing company. Daniel McLaurin's '32 Minutes of Greatness' was the first. He reports the book cannot be printed quickly enough, and is seeking the right agent and publisher ready for a hot property that's ready now. In the meantime, he is stepping up production to meet the direct sales demand.
