THE DREAM AND ITS OUTCOME

On Friday November the 22nd 2015 a major event took place in the Middle East, a huge atomic explosion occurred at the military atomic reactor at Parchin, Iran; an explosion that caused the death and injuries to several hundred thousand citizens at the suburbs of Teheran and the villages around that military atomic compound. A terrible ecological disaster and a death blow to the atomic aspirations of this country's fanatic leaders.

Neither the US with its new president nor Israel and its leaders dared to attack the Iranians' atomic facilities, on account of an open Russian threat, Teheran's covert patron up to that time; While Teheran continued to develop its nuclear program without a hitch.

This disaster tragic as it might be, solved the problem to Israel and the West without a military offensive or any kind of intervention; although there were commentators that claimed as usual that the Israeli Mossad or the United States C.I.A are behind it.

This extremely tragic disaster must have been caused by some human error, be it the eagerness to reach atomic military capability, or Moscow's pressure that has turned Teheran into its tool; which would threat the west up to crushing the Western main states without a battle, in a hidden cold war conducted and controlled by Moscow,

Thus state of affairs went on up to the time when the United States declared that the sanctions and the diplomatic efforts were in vain. A declaration that forced Moscow to pull off its mask and throw in all its weight to threat the United States with cutting off their diplomatic relations, if the United States won't give its belligerent plans, and who could know what else awaits the West when Moscow will expose its fangs.

The United States and its Western allies including Israel had to comply with nuclear Iran, but luck knocked on the door and their crucial problem was solved as if it never existed.

As for Moscow the blow was as hard as the crush down of the Soviet Union some decades ago.

The new Iranian regime has turned to the world for help, and even to the hated West, and declared publically that it annuls its military atomic program.

In Israel and all over the Western hemisphere people uttered a sigh of relief, aid was sent to Iran by its neighbor states and by the West too.

Thus the end of the year 2015 passed by, the world celebrated the new year of 2016 with happiness and hope, the horrendous threats were over. Every state across the globe has returned to its common daily life, in promoting their economies and their citizens' welfare. Europe has recovered and the Euro crisis was overcome; Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy were on the track of a promising recovery. The United States has got rid of a president that talks and does nothing, and gained a new president with sharp teeth. Scientists all over the world have solved the world's warming up problem; the future of the human race was safeguarded again.

There were some entities that have made good use of the promising conditions, which ended the relevance of the Oslo accord; and even the radical left wing in Israel has forgotten all about it. But the Palestinian Authority has turned again to the United Nations General Assembly entreating the international community; including Israel's partners in the Security Council, and was recognized as an independent state. The Syrian council's chairman representing The Syrian National Revolution that has ousted president Assad and his junta at the beginning of 2015 did his best to help his Palestinian brethren among the Council's members who stand for democracy and human rights, while each one of these states is a totalitarian regime. About ten days after the Palestinian Authority has gained its formal independence, at dawn on Friday May the 29th 2015, Hamas armed forces have gained control all over the west Bank, and right at the very beginning of the bloody battles, which ensued the Palestinian Authority chairman and his entourage escaped to Jordan.

The government of Israel was aware to that possibility, but did not report it to any foreign intelligence organization, not even to the C.I.A. The European Union had still bizarre ideas on how to solve the Middle East conflict, while the United States was under growing influence of Saudi Arabia that became the dominant state in the third world, due to the Iranian disaster; and as the world's natural resources has not changed much, and no alternative was found yet to the black gold.

Despite urgent messages from United States to the state of Israel, urging to intervene and save the Palestinian Authority, Israel preferred to do nothing and let the Hamas bury the Palestinian state dream when it has just started to be realized. A state of emergency was declared of course, and reserves forces were mobilized to defend the various Israeli settlement of the West Bank, from the city of Ariel up to the most neglected ones, in case the Hamas will take advantage of the opportunity and attack any of those settlements.

The events in the West Bank were a general repetition of Hamas forceful occupation of the Gaza Strip at 2007, butchering their PLO rivals, which they refer to as a potential threat to their rule, and killing their rivals' relatives too, and thus prevent future vendettas.

The government of Jordan that has survived a coup d'etat attempt by the Palestinian majority, hastened to send the Palestinian Authority members to Qatar.

The Hamas took over all the main West Bank cities except Hebron, which they did not dare even to get near it. Representatives of the European Parliament that rushed to Ramallah to renew the peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel were harassed and sent back to Europe quite rudely.

In a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem a seven hours debate was summed up in a decision to attack the Hamas at the Gaza strip and at the West Bank and defeat the Islamic movement of hatred, and renew the Katif region in the Gaza Strip, and change its name to Kfir, after the lion that Samson has ripped its jaws apart, on his way to the Philistines' village of Timna.

A ROUTINE MEETING

Some four and a half minutes before the planned hour of meeting, David Thurman reached the restaurant in this southern provincial town. He entered the restaurant rather slowly reviewing intently all its advantages from his point of view, and the few guests in the restaurant hall that were seated next to its tables.

He chose a free table in one of the restaurant's corners, from which he could see the entire hall, and part of the outside street through the restaurant's glass pane.

After having sat down with his back to the wall, he watched the rest of the restaurants' guests in a quick survey, taking pains not to attract their attention. Whenever someone turned his eyes to him, he covered the lower part of his face with the palm of his hand, as if he is smothering a yawn. There was no need to worry of course, and even the surveillance check that he did before reaching the restaurant was not particularly needed, and was used as an exercise to know better the lanes through which one could sneak away in emergency.

The name David Thurman in his authentic passport was not his real name of course, but a "nom de guere" that did not rule out his identity as an Israeli citizen but sounded as an Anglo-Saxon name, as long as he was not asked to show his passport.

He has been six weeks already in this provincial town, after having passed two weeks in the company of a veteran agent in the capital and up to the ride in the company of that veteran agent to this very town. His veteran comrade helped him to get used to his new identity and to the new environment in which he has to live from now on for quite a while.

It was a stage of adaptation after a two year hard training and studies and was intended to establish a sound clandestine cover, and to learn the basics of a profession that would serve him in the near future.

Nevertheless it was just the beginning, which would last a certain time under his current identity.

While he was buried in his thoughts David realized that some type was gawking at him. That type sat on a stool opposite the bar, with some half a dozen guests and was at the near edge of that group some three yards away from him. He was a young man, a lean fellow with black smooth hair and typical Asian features. Right at the moment that their eyes met that Asian turned his face back straight ahead, as if he was watching the rows of bottles on the shelves behind the barman.

In a quick glimpse at his watch David realized that his guest is seven minutes late. The time passed without his being aware to it, he thought a bit worried.

The Asian kept glancing at him repeatedly in very short breaks, as if to annoy him on purpose.

He does get on my nerves the rude bastard, David kept thinking frustrated; maybe it's my short beard and my spectacles that attract his attention, or maybe he caught up who I really am

A tall figure in a dark overcoat crossed the road, David saw him walking towards the restaurant's entrance through the glass pane. It was his guest that has arrived at last.

The allowed fifteen minutes did not pass yet and even if that time would have passed, he would not have had to cancel the meeting; as their meeting is taking place in a friendly country, and not in a hostile one.

As for the Asian he could be part of the local organization that kept an eye on him, and is contributing its share to David's training that's what it seemed to him.

His guest crossed the restaurant threshold, looked the place all over, identified David and went straight to his table. David stood up smiling to welcome his guest; they shook hands, exchanged a few words of greetings and sat opposite one another.

A waiter rushed to their table. 'May I serve you gentlemen?'

His guest checked the menu and in a few seconds he ordered, David did the same right after; the waiter wrote down their orders in his pad and left.

'So what's going on with you?' The guest opened up, you aren't pleased I've heard, okay I'm listening.'

'I've been here about six weeks already, it isn't the right place; I'm wasting my time here, it isn't serious and it isn't…'

'I see,' his guest interrupted him in mid sentence. 'Do you've a better idea, or do you expect us to solve your problem?'

'I've checked several other places and there're such places where I could acquire a useful profession and…'

'What are they then?' The resident agent of Western Europe interrupted David once again.

'There're several colleges in which one can study during a six months semester some useful professions.'

'Listen your future profession wasn't decided yet, pack your things and get back to the Capital and do update us on your future solution.'

It was the very answer that David expected to have, and thus the meeting was over actually, although they kept sitting on, and eat their food with hardly an additional word between them.

The Asian was not there anymore, he must have sneaked out while they were in mid discussion.

At the end of the meal they shook hands again, and his superior left and David had to sit on about a quarter of an hour, before he could leave according to the rules.

As that time has elapsed he called the waiter and paid the bill; he put on his overcoat and left the restaurant.

He was standing on the pavement before the restaurant's entrance for a few seconds quite pleased, enjoying the cold wind gusts.

A car passed on the wide road and from its open window a string of red and yellowish tiny lights flashed out…

David was thrown back as if he was hit by an unseen heavy object, and in a friction of a second he was sprawled on his back on the cold pavement that was covered with rivulets of his warm blood.
