When Stan Gideon left his 20-year career in Military Intelligence working for DARPA, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency as an Army Colonel, to work as a Sous Chef in a five-star restaurant in New Orleans, few took notice.  His career had been in black ops and his job duties were always masked by some manufactured title to hide his true endeavors. In Volume II, Engulfed by Disaster, the special of the day is Brined Duck and Sausage Gumbo over Mustard Potato Salad. We follow Stan as his investigation into the official version of the events surrounding the BP Oil Spill and the suspicious activities by the key players leading up to the spill.  The trail gets hot when he learns of the assertion, ripped from the headlines of the Mainstream Media, that the Texas Brine Company’s now defunct brine well is the cause of the growing sinkhole in Assumption Parish, Louisiana.  In an attempt to find the link between the Oil Spill and the bubbling gas in Bayou Corne, Stan uses his growing influence over his informant, Chef Gio and his colleague on the Food Channel, Ella Rose of Texas to uncover the truth behind the Oil Spill and an even greater threat…the intentional eruption of a massive radioactive methane volcano with the power to annihilate the entire population of the Central Gulf Coast.  Will The Specialist succeed in unraveling the mystery before disaster strikes AGAIN???
