Voice Check: Who Is Master and Who Is Slave of Self Within?

When was the last time you had a VC? Yeah, that’s right - a voice check. I had one today, yesterday and the day before that. And I’ll have one tomorrow, the next day, and the day after that, and the day after those, too. Until I become master of self, I’ll live the rest of my days engaging in VC’s. Actually, I have several VC’s throughout the day.

“Why is conducting a voice check so important”, you might ask? Or maybe you’re thinking, what the heck is T.F. talking about! Okay, fair enough. Well I’m not talking about checkin’ your singing voice (Although I can hold a short note on a lucky day, alone in my private space). I’m referring to that little voice in your head. On second thought, that voice ain’t so little. It’s actually huge and reigns supreme for most of our days.

If the soul is not master, then the [egoic] voice, within, is the ruthless oppressor!
