Just posted an incredible video at free blogbook, Who Killed Emmett Till? Very historical, includes interview with Mose Wright, Till's uncle. I hadn't seen this video before and it contains excellent footage of interviews showing the life and times of people living in the Mississippi Delta. This would be a good video for school kids to see since it even goes into the trial phase.

This event represents the first time that electronic media could come in and really cover such a crime. Earlier, when Joe Pullen, a black soldier who had just returned from WW2 was killed in the same, small cotton town, there was some international press coverage. Pullen had gotten into a fight with a cotton planter who he believed had cheated him out of his pay.

Thus, Drew, Mississippi is a town with civil rights history. Most residents there, however, don't know the story of Pullen and many don't even know that Till was killed there, either.
