Worship Him

Sing for joy to God our strength; shout aloud to the God of Jacob! Begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre. (Psalm 81:1-2 NIV)

It's all about worship. When we worship, God inhabits inside us and something wonderful happens. Anyone who truly worships understands what I mean. We become connected with him through our worship. We are full of joy as we lift our hands, sing, clap. We surrender to the wonder that is God. Personally, I am totally spent as I descend from the stage after the worship set. I give Him my all; He deserves no less. I cannot cheat him in going half way. He saved my life; He saved my family; God deserves everything I have.

We should spend every waking moment celebrating! We have the truth, we know what the bible says and we know who we are in Christ. We should not spend our time complaining or in strife and contempt. We know what the cross did for us; we've been freed from sin, freed from an eternity separated from God. That should be reason enough to celebrate like no other.

Yet we all know them; the people who always find fault in something. We all know the people who find something to complain about, whether it's the worship set, the volume of the music, the teaching of the pastor, or maybe it was his bad joke. Is it possible that people complain for the sole purpose of not having to obey the scripture that is placed in front of them?

It's so easy to fall into the trap of judgment and condemnation, but instead we have to remember why call ourselves Christians and celebrate in the arms of Jesus. Fill yourself with joy and fill yourself with God.

LORD, it is all for you. I am in awe as I lift my hands and worship you. I humbly come before you and offer my talents, my gifts, my everything to you. You've given me everything and every time I worship, I give it all back to you.

Devotions like this are available in my first book
