Since 1988 I've worked exclusively as an editorial and publishing consultant. Originally I worked with several bestselling authors on their books. I'm still in touch with them! But now I work to empower and guide first-time authors and independent publishers who are just starting out. An exciting number of the books and series we've launched have met with phenomenal success. The fact is, the subject matter alone -- on which very few children's authors have written -- will attract booksellers. The reviewer didn't "get" the book clearly, but the appearance of the title in PW will be helpful anyway! If they had really thought it wasn't worth anybody's time, they wouldn't have reviewed it at all . . . and believe me, they make that decision more often!
