Something About Me and My Book:
I write fiction and nonfiction. Heck, I feel like I'm writing all the time, which is a great place to be in!

My fiction tends to urban fantasy, and my nonfiction ranges from articles on writing and creativity to instructional manuals that go along with my writing classes.

Words are crucial to my well-being and awareness. I see the world in words. I don't see it in pictures or images, just words. So, if your name is Jack, when I think of you, I think J-A-C-K. I don't imagine your face or hear the dulcet tones of your voice in my head. Just words.

That need, want, desire, essence fuels all who I am. I once thought I'd be a lawyer, and use words to defend others. Once I realized that wasn't the life for me, I headed toward teaching English. What better way to be around words in the world? Well, teaching in a junior high where kids were more concerned with pregnancy, gangs, and just surviving didn't do it for me either.

I went on to start a virtual assistance business, and I worked with some amazing people. When you work virtually, you get to use and depend on words quite a bit!

After a while, though, writing kept calling to me. I left my successful VA practice and started another company to help people become stronger writers. Along the way, I practiced what I preached and worked on my own writing.

Today, I'm doing what I love: writing and connecting with others to help them write well and create a life around words.

May we all write well.
