The War in the Pacific -- A Retrospective

The author, a participant in six major battles during the Pacific War, shows that these battles had virtually nothing to do with deafeating Japan. As a participant, the author was able to see firsthand why American lives were needlessly sacrificed. Also, major blunders by area commanders contributed to even more wasted American lives.
