A distinctly presented novel, Days Of Slint focuses on Haim Shipp, a student of color at a small town college in the 1940's. In a place where his presence was an issue, Haim embarks on a journey toward reaching his life goals. There, he meets the young actor James Dean, who later becomes a close friend, and who in turn would consider Haim a poetic brother or even a parent. Together, they evolve in their daily experiences and exploits and learn from each other as their own bright and anxious lives are shared by those around them. One fateful night, though, changes everything in the lives of Jim, Haim's fiancée - and perhaps the county's history - when someone tragically decides Haim's destiny...
