I have had cirrhosis for 20 years and had a spleenal renal shunt put in 20 yrs. ago To complicate this I contracted Hep C somewhere along the way. I have had some great doctors and some not so great. Mostly I find that when in the hospital for hepatic encephalopathy many doctors come in look at you once, do nothing and charge 150.00 for the visit. That chaps my grits.
Because of the disease I had to stop teaching HS science, am now on disability with early retirement and wrote The Journey.
