sharks and scammers

Hello,

Be aware that WL Writers Agency is a scam operation, latest incarnation of Robert Fletcher and cronies. They prey on auhors and make them their customer base. Am shocked to see them still in biz and using an ad on this site ... which just plummeted in my esteem.

best wishes and beware to all honest authors who need a break out there. And I wouldn't trust any advertiser on this site now.

Now selling $89 reading critiques and "aggressive agent" option in which the agent is "justified" in going hard for your book. It's not easy selling books, it's easier and more lucrative duping authors. What did the traditional publishing houses ever do about all the sharks in their moat. Let them mold in their castles; POD self-publishing is okay, as long as you don't consider your production services company, like Author House, to be a real "publisher." Author Services Representatives are Telemarketers with a few hours of book industry familiarization. Good cheer to all, jim

Cleveland on September 6, 2009 at 6:26am: Good idea, John. it's ironic that you can create an honest site for sincere writers and have Google put up a board of sideshow attractions. Self-publishing is a serious enough challenge, but finding a decent agency and solvent publisher is even greater. I've published 7 books at AuthorHouse and 10 CDs at CDBaby and too busy producing more to do much else. Few sales but producing quality work with exciting new spiritual values is more important. best wishes.
