Celebrating Theodore Roosevelt’s Birthday

an Alternative / Addition to Halloween Hi-jinks

October is the month for spooks, but I’ve always wondered about people who didn’t celebrate Halloween. What is October like for them? Dull? Boring? Are we losing customers because all of our promotions center around holidays that aren’t recognized by all faith groups?

I doubt that our customers are walking out the door as soon as they smell candy corn. But perhaps a little break from the ordinary orange and black table displays wouldn’t harm anything.

My idea is this: a display to commemorate the birthday of one of our nation’s most loved presidents, Teddy Roosevelt. Equipped with biographies, party hats, and of course, a collection jar for Teddy Bears That Care, your Theodore Roosevelt display can invite female guests to vote for their favorite TR book (he was a pioneer in the fight for women’s rights).

Of course, no well-planned idea is untarnished by shameless self-promotion. I’m in sales – I have cats to feed! Please take a look at the information on our title, Historic Photos of Theodore Roosevelt. These books make wonderful gifts and see a 120% increase in sales during Christmas and Father’s Day seasons.

Lastly, here’s a list of books I’d recommend for your display; of course, Historic Photos of Theodore Roosevelt, The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, and Theodore Roosevelt: In the Vanguard of the Modern.

Let me know if you’re interested in setting up a similar display and I’ll get you the books and help with setting up the Teddy Bears That Care jar. I’ve also got some friends at Theodore Roosevelt National Park and can send some brochures for your customers.

Cheers!
