The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Hello Ladles and Jellyspoons.

I stumbled across BMN when commenting on a book cover and decided to join.

I wrote my first (demand) book Inn Keeping with Mr Fawlty which is an anecdotal humorous memoir of my time in the hotel / hospitality trade. The book has sold well in the UK and has had some success in the States. I am told that Americans love Fawlty Towers on which the book is based.

I have just finished my first draft of the follow up book on the same theme to be called Keeping Inn with Basil. This has now reached my editor. I am hoping that I can get a mainstream publisher to take both books. I never really had the opprotunity to sell the first book because my hotel was under offer (I have had more than enough) and so the book was rushed out 'on demand'..then the offer for the Elizabethan manor fell through and book two emerged.

I maybe in the wrong place but I am hoping to get some advice and or contacts for the second book. Any advice would be welcome.

Yeap, it's funny, I never knew this place existed...I just wish I'd known 6 months ago. Anyway, if I get half as much out of being here as I have from Inked-In then it will be the right place....and Fiona...man flu doesn't even scratch the Innkeepers hardened skin.....the show must go on...I am a hotelier and Sybil won't cover for me if I have any man affliction ! LOL

Hello Innkeeper! Lynn has just invited me too. What a great forum :) Maybe we two newbies can hold hands until we feel more comfortable. Oh, forgot, you've got man flu - pass the disinfectant!
