New book about the Northern Lights

I have been working on a follow up book to the "Our Explosive Sun". An its is soon to be published. It is called "The Northern Lights - a Guide".

A perfect timing since solar activity peaks in 2013 and will produce a lot of great aurora displays across the USA. In particular the upper states. This the book should be af great interest the everyone, but in particular those with scandinavian blood.

It differs from other books that it takes the reader on a journey from myths through Kristian Birkelands theory to modern science. Furthermore it includes basics of how to hunt and take great pictures of these celestial lights. 

The book is written by unique team - a scienctist and an aurora photographer (and marine biologist). 

The book will appear mid January both in Norwegian and English. 

The book will be presented at the Nordic Cool festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC Feb/March 2013
