The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I had the idea to start this group after a long discussion this evening with one of my other friends on here, whose name I won't mention. We came to the conclusion that us Brits do not seem to be as good at networking as our American cousins. When I started a blog site recently aimed at helping to promote other print on demand books, it was featured in Writers News and got just one response, which I think is a great shame.

Our needs though are slightly different to the American members on here and many resources and contacts mentioned on here do not apply to us. I felt then it would be a good idea to start a group specially for us where we can share what has and and has not worked for us, and the different things we have tried to promote our works, whether fiction or non fiction.

I hope you find it useful and look forward to some interesting discussions.

Hi June, What a fabulous idea. I wish we were more geared to providing information, and workshops for budding writers like our American cousins. Perhaps if enough of us Brits join your group we can arrange an annual get together!
Sounds good to me Jenny - I went through the list of all 75 members of this site who are from our fair isle earlier today and found that quite a large proportion of members are in fact British authors - more than you would think. Let's hope that some of them then respond and join us!

If you have any burning issues to discuss by the way, no need to wait for me to get the ball rolling - feel free to post on anything that you like.

Hi June!
I was so pleasantly surprised to find you as the host of this group as we had only recently connected via email discussing POD options. I want to thank you again for sharing your knowledge.

As I am orginally from the US, but am a UK citizen (have lived here for a decade and consider myself to be British) I hope to bring the best of both worlds to the forum.

To anyone reading this: I am new to this Ning group, and have only a couple of friends so far. Please invite me if I don't invite you first!

Happy to be here,
