Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

What is this verse saying? It is saying there is joy in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord God Himself will show lost souls there is joy in His presence. Jesus Christ paved the way for lost souls to be reconciled to the Father.

More importantly, this verse describes the relationship between God and His people. A relationship with God is an everlasting relationship resulting from an unwavering trust and faith in God regardless of the circumstance or situation.

This verse also demonstrates the acknowledgment of the sovereignty of God as He is humanity’s guide, as He illuminates our way. Psalm 119:105 supports this fact by saying, thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. God so loves us that He does not want His people walking in darkness.

This verse also tells us of God’s love by stating that He is the source of our joy. There is no joy like the joy that God provides. It is an unspeakable joy that the world cannot give nor understand. God’s joy is not material wealth but a deep, complete sense of knowing that we are in the presence of Almighty God. Lastly, God promises His eternal pleasures that last forever.

What a blessing it is to follow God!
