The 2nd Annual Big Valley BookFest will be held Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hanford Mall, 1675 W. Lacey Blvd, Hanford. This is a free event sponsored by the Kings County Library, the Hanford Mall and the Hanford Sentinel.
Over 25 local authors will be available to greet the public and sign books. Jeri Westerson, author of the Crispin Guest Medieval Mysteries will be attending and brings with her a collection of medieval weapons of mass destruction (swords, maces, helmets). Her visit coincides with the Renaissance Fair happening at Courthouse Park on the same day.
The BookFest was created to showcase local authors, create public awareness and encourage literacy in the San Joaquin Valley.
