A CREATIVE CRISIS

Excerpted from "Miles to Go."

Even as Lindsay Malone feels new bursts of energy, as she prepares to move into their new home, her daughter Summer faces a creative crisis of formidable proportions.

As the spring days marched along, Summer became more and more restless. Here she was in her senior year, and suddenly, despite several years of single-mindedly pursuing her photography and dabbling in sketching and oil painting, she felt the luster fading from the… Continue

Thanks, Laurel. As a prolific writter, you know recognition for your efforts is appreciated, whether it's an award, a word from a reader, or a note from an online friend.

Raine,
Timothy Desmond has just joined this site. He's going to be selling his historical thriller "For Thou Art With Me" at the Hanford BookFest on April 19. Please "befriend" this Valley author.

In my case, it was because my agent got me two back-to-back three-book contracts for six thrillers (counting INTERN). I had to learn on the run, so to speak. YA is a fun change. I don't have to kill anyone.

Thanks. It's original title was, "It Never Rains in California." The publisher called it "INTERN" because they thought it was more commercial. I wrote it as women's fiction. They marketed it as a political thriller. And then I had to write five more.
