The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Hi,  I am eager to participate in review exchanges with other authors. Ethical Empowerment: Virtue Beyond the Paradigms is primarily a work of philosophy but it is filled with many practical applications especially in the social-political-economic arena. It covers a broad spectrum as I attempt to portray my conception of individual and social empowerment. Parts are semi-academic but it is mostly geared to a general readership that is not averse to intellectual and controversial issues.

I am happy to review fiction as well as non-fiction.

Hello,

I am very interested in exchanging reviews with you.  I'm the author of three books--Faith and Philosophy, From the Potomac to the Seine, and A Salute to Patriotism. The latter title is the one I'm promoting now. It's $3.99 on Amazon Kindle:

Jean P. Kavale

Hi Jean,

Thanks for contacting me. I would be delighted to review your book, A Salute to Patriotism. I also want to read Faith and Philosophy; I see that it is out of print but I can obtain a used one. The problem at the moment is that I am completely absorbed in the formatting of my book in order to bring it out in print. Also, the eBook, which came out a year a ago, has been significantly edited (no substantive changes in terms of content but significant nonetheless) and I would want you read the new edition (a new eBook edition will be uploaded concurrently with the print edition). So I think we should wait, I'd say, about three weeks. Then I would be happy to review both the books that I referred to.

I should advise you that my book is intended to spark controversy to trigger philosophical reflection on important issues, but for me empowerment entails elements of both traditionalism and progressivism.  Many of my ideas are well outside the mainstream and, admittedly, very idealistic and probably easily dismissed as impractical. Regardless of my views, however, my primary purpose is to stimulate debate and reflection.

My eBook is $6.99 (a sale price) that will go back to $9.95 after the print edition comes out. So, I propose that if you purchase one of my editions, I will purchase both A Salute to Patriotism and Faith and Philosophy to balance out the difference in cost. We could also exchange digital files if you would prefer to avoid any expense.

So, let me know if, and how, you would like to proceed.  All the best -- Arthur Schwartz

Thanks for your response. I can understand why you are very busy now, but I have no problem with waiting about three weeks to exchange reviews. The $9.95 price for your ebook version of Ethical Empowerment is fine with me, especially since you plan to buy a used paperback copy of Faith and Philosophy. Both the subject matter of your book and its purpose (stimulating debate and reflection) are interesting topics, and I very much look forward to reading it.

Sincerely, Jean P. Kavale

I'll get in touch with you soon (re. that 3 week period, roughly).
