To respond to your comment, Google Alerts is a free service used to keep track of keyword related information on the web. Most people keep track of their book (via title), author name, website url, etc. It does not help directly with promotion of your book unless you leave comments on peoples blogs that come up for your keywords. Adwords, Google's other program, is a paid service where you can actually drive people to your website by paying Google to display your ad on other people's webpages. I only use Alerts.
