Something About Me and My Book:
I've spent much of my career in the Mid-East, where I worked as an HR consultant and successfully self-published and marketed business software.

Returning to the UK recently I came across a novel manuscript I'd mostly written 25 years ago - and mostly forgotten. I found I still liked it.

So I took it out of its envelope, dusted it off, put a few splashes of fresh paint on it, and started workshopping it on The Next Big Writer site. Since then - and with lots of help and support from the folks at tNBW, I've become completely addicted to writing, and now I'm determined to shape a new writing career.

The novel is 'The Lebanese Troubles'. It's Spring 1975. Richard and Claire Devine, newly arrived in Beirut on their first overseas posting, fall under the spell of madcap Lawrence Anderson, self-styled gossip-monger for the local newspaper, and his Palestinian girlfriend, Monique. As the country disintegrates into civil war, relationships flounder, loyalties are tested, certainties evaporate.

This is also where I'm describing the route to publication, trying to apply the marketing principles that worked well for me with software. I'm treating my writing as a business, and the first rule is that it has to support me. That's why my route to publication will be unconventional ...
