Something About Me and My Book:
The Hollows Cover
THE HOLLOWS

1949: A young girl is traumatized when she witnesses a grisly murder in the forest behind her home.
1999: A loving wife disappears in the middle of the night, leaving no trace of her whereabouts.
2009: Former detective David Alders rents an apartment at a typical complex; a quiet unassuming place nestled in the outskirts of Fort Worth called The Hollows.

David is at a dead end after ten maddening years searching for his vanished wife. With mounting bills and a daughter on the verge of college, he makes the only logical choice: sell the family home, get back to work, and take a cheap apartment. His daughter, Melanie, is secretly thrilled about the change hoping it means a fresh start for their withering family.

But The Hollows has other plans…

As a new community welcomes the Alders into its midst, elusive figures watch from the periphery, waiting for their moment. On the first night, a grotesque, burnt man seizes Melanie in her bed, spewing insane ramblings before disappearing into the darkness. She struggles to convince her father what happened was real, but David has his own problems.

Like the fact that he has just woke up in the wrong day.

Welcome to a tour through the dark underbelly of the last half-century where invisible hands take you by force to the demons of your past. Where you can find terror, time travel, and murder—all for one low monthly rent. Welcome to…

THE HOLLOWS: Pray that the lease agreement expires before you do.

EPPIE award

PIT-STOP just won the 2009 EPPIE Award for Best Horror!

LAST CHANCE AT REDEMPTION FOR THE NEXT MILLION YEARS. Welcome to the Pit-Stop Grill, a roadside attraction along Arizona's Route 66 where travelers kick up their feet while sipping a nice cup of joe. It's a cool oasis in an unforgiving desert landscape. It's also the last stop on the road to Hell.

When ten people find themselves inside the eerie diner, unable to get out or remember how they arrived, all they know is what their waitress, Holly, tells them: a bus is coming. It will take them the rest of the way to a destination of unspeakable horrors. Led by highway patrolman, Officer Scott Alders, the group of strangers unite with a common goal--escape. Each of them holds dark secrets, but personal demons are no match for the wraithlike bus driver who arrives bearing the nametag RAMSEY.

Driving an oily black bus with ghostly headlights and exhaust that smells of brimstone, Ramsey wastes no time picking them off one by one. As their number dwindles and the terror mounts, Scott Alders realizes it will take more than a police-issued sidearm to stop the evil that tracks them. But is there enough power in their battered spirits to combat a crimson-eyed driver with a schedule to keep? One thing is clear: you'll think twice before you make your next Pit-Stop.

Scattered Leaves is about a Native Indian boy that has been passed down a "gift" from his ancestors from the time when Abraham Lincoln approved the Mass Execution of 37 Native Americans in Mankato, Minn. (which is the largest to date mass execution by the government). The 37 Natives were killed for stealing a cow and butchering it to feed their families after the government (who was in charge of distributing food to the reservation indians) refused to give out the food that it had warehoused away.

The natives were starving, children and elders were dying off, so something had to be done.

Now in todays time, the spirits of those wrongly executed have come back to take revenge on the "white" people, but this one native boy...Kyle...may have the ability to stop the spirits.

This book was written by a friend of mine whose husband is a full-blood Ojibway man and is also a Ceremonial leader in our area. Lynny participates in many Native functions and ceremonies and is just a great gal! Her book is also being looked at by producers to be made into a movie! I hope you get the chance to check it out!!!
