Profile Information

Something About Me and My Book:: Mike Serovey (1958 - present) is a veteran of the US Army, an avid chess player, web site owner, webmaster and Internet marketer who is now venturing into publishing books on Amazon Kindle. Mike also has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and a Master of Arts degree in guidance and counseling education from USF as well. Mike has earned a Master of Information Systems Management degree from Keller Graduate School of Management and is currently working on an MBA at Keller.

Mike has been playing in USCF rated chess tournaments since November of 1974 and is currently rated as a chess expert in correspondence chess by the USCF. Mike Serovey is also certified by the US Chess Federation as a Local Tournament Director.

My book, Better Thinking for Better Chess, is based upon a directed study I did back in 1988 as a part of my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Although I have made a few corrections in spelling and grammar and reformatted the tables, this is basically the same report that I turned in for a grade back in 1988. At that time the only person who was going to read it was the psychology professor who was grading it. In spite of my errors in that original version I received a grade of “A” This is my second attempt to make this report available to a wider audience. Based upon the limited feedback that I have received so far, chess players who have no background in psychology or statistics will not understand or care for a major portion of this book. On the other hand, people who understand statistics and psychology but do not like chess will not get much out of this book either.

Introduction: Better Thinking for Better Chess

I am new to this web site and to blogging here and I am just saying hello. I wrote my first book, Better Thinking for Better Chess, and I have it published on Amazon, Create Space, Lulu and Barnes and Nobel but it is not selling well. I am hoping that you all will help me with this and othe rbooks tah tI write.
