Something About Me and My Book:: I currently work fulltime as a freelance writer. He is a poet, actor, writer and speaker. A former full time journalist, I worked in radio and for daily newspapers. I has also taught composition and literature full-time at both the high school and college levels. I holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in English. I have recently finished a manuscript for my second novel. Also, I have developed several television shows and movie scripts.

Across the Bridge is set in the 1960s. Fourteen-year-old Eddie Jordan leaves the predominantly Black school system in his hometown to enter the private educational world of a prestigious New England prep school. Through his own experiences and the experiences of his new classmates, he is confronted with issues of race, class, and sexual identity. And along the way, he battles a personal demon. The serene setting of Whitfield Academy contrasts with the tumultuous setting of Eddie Jordan’s hometown; however, the issues are the same and, in some ways, more pronounced at Whitfield.
