About My Novels
When I started this endeavor, it was mostly for my kids. I was writing romance at the time and they really wanted me to write something for them. So I began to write children's stories, then moved into novels.
I'm not sure where the idea of putting history and mystery together came from, but it seems to be a hit. The reason for writing it is to teach kids, even adults, a little bit about history without them realizing they are learning something. I wanted to do it in a "spooky" manor.
In the first novel, Mystery at Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, three children find that they can go back into time through the lighthouse. While going back in time, they have Bruce chasing them, trying to kill them, and a father, who disappeared that they must find. The mystery leads them to the 1850s to meet Harriett Tubman, and to the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
In my second novel, The Winchester Mystery, due out in October, we find ourselves at the Winchester mansion in California. The real life stories are that Sarah Winchester was told that she must build on the house every day for the rest of her life or she would be killed by ghosts that were killed by the WInchester rifle. It is also said that when she did die, she had a fortune hidden in that house. So three families go into the house to look for the treasure and will meet the ghosts of Frank and Jesse James, Geronimo, and witness the Battle at Little Big Horn. They will also be haunted by the ghost of Sarah Winchester.
I hope that anyone that ventures into the history of my novels will enjoy both the history and the mystery.
