Best wishes with your writing. Definitely don't give up and try not to get frustrated. Successful writing careers take time to cultivate. And just so you know, most writers keep their day jobs. The ones that write full-time usually do so by happenstance like losing a job. In regards to advances, those are broken up over time, not one lump sum. So again, be encouraged. If you write for passion, things will fall into place. Believe that.
