My artist wife wrote a book for artists - Passion and Paint in Creating "Great Art". We did our own layout work using Microsoft Office Publisher, and a computer we had built especially for graphics work. I am printing the books on a Xerox laser printer and binding them with equipment from the Maping Co. in Finland. This has been an enjoyable process, and the finished product is quite satisfying. Marketing, to date, is neither enjoyable nor satisfying.

It's difficult to market because the audience is so targeted. You can't just sell to art lovers, you have to sell to people who want to be artists.
I may have missed it, but I don't remember seeing which medium is preferred. Is it water colors? The emotional theme of the book was clear, but is there a preferred technique discussed?
Displaying sample pages on the site is a good idea, but you may want to choose pages that are less generalized.
I hope you get over your blues soon. Surely after people see her paint, they'll have to buy a book (or at least a picture).
