Hi Mary and Elizabeth,
Glad to find fellow Texans. My book is also an historical fiction, set in Texas during the late 19th century. Spent two years in research as my book is based on a true story. Good luck with yours!

My sister and I live in different states, she's in NC and I'm in TN but we do it through email and it's a lot of fun. We've finished up three of them, so now to go back through them one more time to make corrections....

I plan on publishing them as I think they are good books....she sent them off to harlequinn but after reading some of them, I know ours won't fit in. They are more mainstream as we have too many charachters...

But it's fun to write fiction, all of my publsihed works are non fiction, and I love both writings.....She's ten years younger than I am but we've had a lot of fun doing it.....and I hope to continue on...

I was wondering if you could give me some pointers about promoting and marketing my book(s). I seem to have hit a brick wall and marketing seems to be my weak spot. I have read books about marketing books, and tried to follow everything that John Kremer and Dan Poynter have suggested, but I'm just not getting anywhere. If you hasve any suggestions, I would welcome them with open arms.

Also, if I were to send you a copy of my first book (self-published) would you be interested in reading it and commenting on it? No rush, just when (and if) you would have time.

Thanks for responding to my invitation. I am wondering about using a pen name. I wonder what advantages (or disadvantages) that might have in this modern age of instant communications. So much publicity seems to depend on people knowing who you are.

Best of luck in your work,
Val

Hi Frances and Mary, great to meet you. My sister and I have written a few romances together but haven't gotten them published yet. We may do one of them this year. Will check out your website and wish you well on your book.....Shirley
