Something About Me and My Book:
I'm not really sure what to write here, so I guess I'll just dive right in.
My life's been pretty varied, without much clear direction, except for the one true desire to write, and to write well. Like most writers, I love to read. I love to read anything that is well written. I'd rather read an engaging and cleverly-written lawn mower manual than a spy story that is flat, dull, and predictable.
I guess I can always add to this later. I don't know. I'm still kind of new to all of this technological wizardry. I still prefer a Hemingway manual typewriter, or a Mark Twain pen and inkwell set.
At one point in my life, I accidentally got into radio broadcasting, and for awhile I worked at a small AM station in Leesburg, Virginia. I was a newscaster and reporter, covering local political meetings and other events that no one outside of Leesburg, and few inside, cared about. My novel is based on that experience. It's a comedy, mainly, with a bit of mystery and a bit of romance. The book is character driven, and the people within really do spring up off the page and become almost real.
They say you should write what you like to read, and since some of my favorite authors are Bill Bryson, Garrison Keillor, Mark Twain and John Mortimer, my book falls somewhere within those styles. A couple of people who have read it told me it made them laugh out loud.

They must blog, update websites, seek out friends. They must display an almost Einsteinian grasp of a realm not all are mentally equipped to master. To give you an idea of how challenged I am, on those rare occasions when I borrow somebody's cell…
