Something About Me and My Book:
I am a stay-at-home Mom of 3 small children and former high school Spanish teacher. When I decided to stay home 4 years ago, I started a Spanish language business where I taught Spanish Immersion Weekends to adult learners. Two children later, it became harder to get away from the house, so I self-published the materials I created and am now selling them to continuing education programs (community colleges, community adult ed programs, churches, etc.) across the country.

My company, Pronto Spanish, has 2 main lines of Spanish materials. The first line, ¡A Conversar! (which means "Let's chat!" in Spanish) is a 4-level Spanish conversation series that is geared towards the adult learner who wants to learn conversational Spanish in a fun and relaxed manner. Very little grammar is involved in these books.

My most recent line is ¡A Trabajar! A Guide to Occupational Spanish. This is a workbook designed to teach Spanish in the workplace, for those employees who supervise Spanish-speakers or have Spanish-speaking clients and customers.

We also offer "Pronto Guides," which go along with the occupational Spanish book. These are 4-page Guides (includes an audio CD) of 550+ common Spanish words and phrases used in various industries. So far, our Pronto Guides include:

Spanish for Construction
Spanish for Educators
Spanish for Food Service
Spanish for Health Care
Spanish for Hospitality
Spanish for Human Resources

I am very new to the publishing business and am very interested in learning new marketing techniques and expanding to different markets.

Very cool line, Tara. I've seen you on websites before while promoting my own book of Spanish (well corruptions of Spanish :-)
I think your expertise could be of interest to people on my new and fast-growing Self Publishing group here on BMN. Everybody thinks self-publishing means putting out a book from lulu and starting a blog, but you make it obvious that there are a lot of different media out there, and that you can build on success with more books.
Come on by, if you would, help build this resource.
