I'm not sure if you've checked the Iris official Website recently, but I've been putting a lot of work into it. I've gotten my graphic artist to make me a brand new cover, as well as a Genetic Alliance logo. On top of that, I've refined the fan club, and opened up more fan participation opportunities for those who are anxiously awaiting the release of the first Iris Novel.
While this wait has been extended, due to unforeseen circumstances, I can still offer my fans… Continue
Have you ever had long stretches where your Muse goes on holiday and didn't invite you? Did it take off and didn't leave a forwarding address? I have too! Daily writing prompts and free-style writing can save the "empty mind" syndrome every time. Come and join in the fun as we "locate" the Muse once it takes a hike and leaves us still on the porch.
Both of my nominations in the P & E Polls are so far doing well.
A Study in Red is still at #1 in the Thriller section and my poetic self Juan Pablo Jalisco has just gone to joint #1 in the Poets section.
Please, if anyone is kindly disposed to add their votes to my nominations, got to http://www.critters.org/predpoll/novelthrill.shtml to vote for 'A Study in Red - The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper' and to… Continue

I’m guilty. Most of us are guilty of treating others better than we treat ourselves. Why? I’m not sure but it might be because we just want to be loved.
One important distinction I have come to realize through time and maturity is that you can’t give away what you don’t posses. This is true of anything from love to money or knowledge and anything else. My point is this, love yourself. This is easy to say and/or think but it can be so hard to do (for some of us anyway).
I don’t say… Continue

Most weeks there's some news, but this week's news is huge! The speaker catalog I co-founded, Presenters & Programs, has been mailed out to 30,000 meeting and event planners. It's so exciting to know that something I helped create will be seen by so many people in short order. Even better, knowing that I'll be feeling this same sense of excitement in another year when the 2010 version of the catalog goes out. If you'd like to see our handy work, check out the high resolution PDF version at:… Continue

I'm guestblogging at http://www.adeledubois.com/blog/ today, talking about my first visit to Dorchester's impressive offices in the heart of Manhattan. The business end of books is fascinating and the good folk at Dorchester are like a well-oiled machine, cranking so many new titles out each month. I only have to worry about a couple of releases a year. My editor, Leah Hultenschmidt, is responsible for… Continue

The cowgirls have arrived! My first novel, Cowgirl Dreams, is a dream come true for me. It’s been a long ride, with many spills, but I learned to get back on that bronc and try it again.
I kept hearing it over and over. Perseverance is key. Don’t give up. Keep submitting, keep learning, keep improving your craft. And it is true.
When I began submitting my novel manuscripts (I have three more now in various stages of writing and revision), I decided I would TRY to collect… Continue
