Kicking Eternity - a review

Kicking Eternity by Ann Lee Miller made my top five reads for 2012. Here is my review:

Raine has been hired to teach Bible at a summer camp, but is unprepared for her attraction to bad boy Cal, or seeing Drew again, a ‘boy’ from her past who is now all grown up. The promise of some interesting developments between the three is almost immediate and I was hooked after only a few pages. The characters are varied and well developed; real people with issues that deserve an audience. It is…

Just a reminder

Just wanted to remind all my followers that my latest mind-bending trip is now available on Kindle. Thanks so much and spread the word.

What if everything we perceive, all we experience, is just a figment of someone else’s imagination? And what if that someone is dying?

IMAGINATION

A botched military mission finds new recruit Christopher Parker in a hostile prison camp. His life has become pain. To escape the prolonged misery of torture, Christopher…

IT SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT I BELIEVE EVERY WORD OF IT

         IT SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT I BELIEVE EVERY WORD OF IT

“I have chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise” God’s very declaration about this life. A world that is overun with thousands upon thousands of people who are very intelligent or masquerading as someone who is that Blessed.  God has told us in his word that this breed of humanity has always stumbled with the way things are supposed to work, function, live and breathe, because…

Magical idea drawer

With my marketing efforts underway and my books uploaded on all the major writer’s sites, I am about ready to start my quest to write three novellas in the next year. I’m leaning toward the Dystopian genre, with a little sci-fi fantasy thrown in. I’m going to try and do a series, building on the plot book after book. I do have a few ideas that have been swimming around in my head for a few years and I recently pulled the “ideas” file from my cabinet. This file was thick with scraps of paper…

The Coalition Trilogy

Book One: The Cortex - Published 2012.

Book Two of the trilogy is almost complete, it's actually a prequel with no real character connection to Book One, but it is set within the same Galactic-wide society and uses the same mythology. It also goes deeper into the various indigenous species who have lost their independence with the rise of the human Alliance and the eventual foundation of the Coalition of Worlds. The one major link to book one is the presence of the transcendent First…

Book Review: The Long Road Home: The Death and Birth of America by Nick West

The Long Road Home: The Death and Birth of America is Nick West’s second novel and the sequel to his first book, The Great Southern Circus.

In this story, we follow the lives of the same characters from book 1 as they traverse the difficult and painful years of the American Civil War. Four people,  four lives: two men–one white, one black–join the…

This Is the Day the Lord Has Made

THIS IS MY DAY!!!

Psalm 118:24-25 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity

This morning as I was meditating and thanking the Lord for this day He began to let me know…

Early April Fool's Spam Honorable Mention Author List

I’d like to alert everyone to the email I mentioned in my last blog post. When I received the email, I tried to look up the article and couldn't find it in News Digest. I assumed I might have been too late to read the article since Lisa Davis’s message said it would only be available for a few hours. I'm always looking for things to post in my blog that draw attention to my books and online bookstore so I went ahead and posted with excerpts from the email to prove Lisa Davis…

Poem: Moral Fiascos

Real Truth is still being sought out,

in this ever growing Age of Information;

the rise of social media has added

to the noise against spiritual institutions.

Unfortunately, ungodly behaviors continue to play out

within our society, neighborhoods and church pulpits.

We Christians must wholeheartedly repent now,

before His divine Grace, we unwittingly forfeit.

Sacred texts attest to God’s existence by faith,

while…

Poem: Called to Worship (IV)

Do you know what you’re doing?

Search your heart’s motivation.

What is it, that keeps you going?

Are there… corresponding actions?

Refrain from frenetic, frantic busyness,

for now is the time for quiet waiting;

stop the phony acts of supposed holiness;

discontinue the false, religious debating.

Endeavors taken are still your choice.

Can your actions stand before God’s pop quiz?

Are you listening solely to His…
