Zombie Apocalypses? Rapture? 2012?

Zombie Apocalypses? Rapture? 2012?

From the short story

SOULS

A work in progress

By B.E. Schafer

Blake Schaefer

Dreams of mist and fog twisting through the hallways of my mind; I find myself on a dark interstate all alone. Sweat drips profusely from my brow as I peer out the rain-splashed windshield as the wipers squeal, pushing me deeper into this hypnotic nightmare. Is this a dream or am I living in a strange dimension far from the world I have always known?… Continue

The Strangers Outside - Vanessa Morgan, Author

The Strangers Outside – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

‘After walking quickly along a winding sidewalk toward the outermost building on the left of the complex, the sisters arrived at their holiday cottage.  Louise already had her key in hand and quickly unlocked the door, gesturing for Jennifer to go inside…

Silver Wolf Cleveland W. Gibson

Today’s short story author Cleveland W. Gibson has really grown on me. He has developed a nice, small library of work already that displays his diversity and uncanny ability to drive deep into the heart and soul of matters, regardless of the genre. Here is a something about the author if you haven’t had a read on his work yet and also something on the digital short story:

“Cleveland W. Gibson has a knack for the paranormal/fantasy world and in Silver Wolf he takes us on…

Book is up and ready to sell... damn, I screwed up the description

I decided NOT to pay the $25 for my epub guy to put AFTER into the e-world. I did it myself. And it was pretty easy. I would recommend people try to do it themselves and only if they can't then hire someone to do it. Getting on smashwords is a little harder but I think I'll be able to figure it out. I'll let you know how it goes. That said, and being all proud of myself, I realized to my horror that I made a mistake in my description. I have my character being two ages. Fifteen and…

Buried Prey John Sandford

Lucas Davenport just knows how to find his guy and solve a mystery doesn’t he? I really love this novel for so many reasons, let me count the ways. But first, let’s just jump into the synopsis:

“A house demolition provides an unpleasant surprise for Minneapolis-the bodies of two girls, wrapped in plastic. It looks like they've been there a long time. Lucas Davenport knows exactly how long.

In 1985, Davenport was a young cop with a reputation for recklessness, and the girls'…

ESPN: "The Pony Express " - Black Sports History Uncovered, After 50 Years.

"Truth pressed to earth will rise."

In 1965, against impossible odds, all-black Durham, North Carolina's Hillside High's basketball team fought bigotry and poverty, to become State Champions, fulfilling a vow five members made as freshmen. Their records still stand. - A true story.

Becoming Mommy...Becoming Me - Alisha Williams, Author

Becoming Mommy…Becoming Me – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

‘During the ultrasound the technician was happy showing me the heartbeat and telling me that the baby looked normal size for about a 9 week pregnancy. I have to admit it was a little exciting seeing the baby on the screen. After the technician wiped all the jelly off my stomach I went to use the bathroom because my bladder was about to explode. When I came back in the room the whole atmosphere in… Continue

Tomorrow's Girls Eva Grey

A Middle school book to share with my youngest daughter on occasion is fun and breaks things up a bit. Next week I will be reading a Brett Battles middle school novel, and sometime later I believe the new John Grisham YA novel also. Okay let’s get this rolling along and find out what is between the covers:

“In a terrifying future world, four girls must depend on each other if they want to survive.

Louisa is nervous about being sent away to a boarding school -- but she’s…

The Capta and The Cop Part II Thad Brown

I am amazed each and every time I get to read one of the new installments in The Smoking Gun Sisterhood Series. There are ten installments; we have reached number five and man I do not want it to end. Hopefully Thad Brown will see fit to start something new or to expand the universe of strong female characters he has developed. I make no bones about my love for this man’s writing; he is just sensational. As a side note: I have had the privilege of collaborating with Thad Brown on a Trestle…
