Self-Publishing--Is it an option? Yes, And A Good One!

Self-Publishing--Is it an option?

They usually produced inferior books, had little or no distribution, and/or the books were so expensive nobody would buy them. They were really just to assuage the author’s vanity, in my opinion, hence the… Continue

The High Road Home (Excerpt from "SCHLEP" by d'Philip Chalmers)

There’s an exit off of the Interstate just past Grand Island, Nebraska where there is nothing there. You get off the not very busy Interstate and there is just a long, lonely road that

goes into the deep dark night to the north and south. We made a right, heading

south, and drove for a little while until we came to a clearing next to the

road where there…

Short Stories

Why is it so difficult to publish short story anthologies. Writers have been publishing short stories for centuries, yet I'm finding publishers reluctant to publish anthologies because they claim people don't read them. Of course it's always an eye to the bottom line, especially in this economy.

Many Lessons for a Life Worth Living

Great crested flycatchers found it and returned year after year. We knew they had arrived when we heard them in the trees. If they thought I was watching, they would fly away. Toward the end of the summer when the babies had fledged, the squirrels…
