Are There Two Varieties of Psychopaths?

I recently came across an interesting article explaining that psychopaths may come in two varieties: psychopaths who are incarcerated for criminal acts and psychopaths who may never be incarcerated or caught for their criminal acts.

I thought this was an interesting concept to ponder and wondered what significant outcome this would render for the criminal… Continue

Operation EBook Drop

Many of our deployed troops would spend their down-time reading, if they just had access to books. Some do have access to ereaders, iPods, Blackberries, PCs, and laptops. But they are starving for good books to read.

As my special Christmas project this year I've signed up for a wonderful program, Operation EBook Drop, started by a retired veteran, fellow author, Ed Patterson, who remembers those long hours when far from home. He is making it possible, along with… Continue

Teen Sex and Your Child

NEWPORT BEACH, CA, September 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Many parents make the mistake of NOT discussing the topic of sexuality with teens. Keeping silent will not keep teens from experimenting with heterosexual activities and even homosexual activities. Studies show that more teens are questioning their sexuality and most likely parents will be the last to know. It is estimated that in the U.S., a teen takes their own life every 5 hours because they are gay, bisexual, transgender, or… Continue

'...the beautiful, sweat-soaked black girl. She sat slouched...'

He paused, glanced back at the beautiful, sweat-soaked black girl. She

sat slouched in the passenger seat, breathing heavily, staring into her

lap with vacant eyes. Her bra was back in place now, but much of her

taut, flawless, creamy-brown skin was still exposed.

At 12 years old, Deborah Yvonne Davis had the sweet, innocent face

of a young girl, but the fetching body of a woman, years older. It was her

blessing and her curse.

Jonathan stared long… Continue

In Remembrance of Grandma - Poem & Background

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. In this installment, I share the background and poem "In Remembrance of Grandma".

Poem: Dust (Humor)

Those disembodied remnants,

Earthly remains of unknown souls,

are now assembled at my doorstep.

Having piqued my attention,

who are these unwelcome houseguests?

Loved ones or Nordic heroes

who were consumed in funeral pyres?

How old are these molecules

that have been forever scattered

during these past centuries?

Unwanted leftovers of human containers,

eaten by microscopic mites,

nibble at my presence

and wait for my spirit to dry… Continue

Behind the Poem: Enjoy This Season

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. In this installment, I share a blurb regarding my poem "Enjoy This Season".

Lots of people like to surmise about the idea of living in a different period of recorded humanity, such as: Italy's Renaissance (circa 1400-1600 ad), the building of the Greek or Roman Empires, the time of Christ and so forth. However, not me.… Continue

Is there such a thing as unnecessary book marketing material?

I had a discussion with someone who stated that some marketing material is unnecessary as they won't make a difference ini book sales. I 100% disagree and believe that every piece of marketing material is needed and it isn't just about having the marketing material but how you use it. Is it just me or do you agree with this individual.
